Tucker reached out to me around a week before he planned his proposal to Vanessa at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh. And when I tell you all that he had everything sorted out perfectly, he really did! He planned everything to a T, from spending the day with Vanessa and making sure they both got dressed up for the big moment without raising suspicions. These two made my job SO easy!
Tucker had the perfect setup in mind for this NC Museum of Art proposal. He took Vanessa out for a stroll and brought their dog Kona along. Once I spotted them, I ran up to them (cue the acting), asked if I could take a picture of Vanessa and Kona together (“I know this is awkward, but you guys are just SO cute!”), and stalled for the few precious seconds that Tucker needed to pull out the ring, get down on one knee, and call Vanessa’s name.
And it was perfect.
The rest of T & V’s engagement photos are a beautiful combination of 35mm film and digital. We’d fretted about the weather for nothing: the setting sun and the cool air made for the sweetest session. These two are so real, genuine, and contagiously delightful. I think you’ll feel the same way looking through these!
Look at that classic, elegant ring! Tucker said he’d had the ring on hand for months, and he’d worried that Vanessa would discover it. Luckily, she only saw it for the very first time when he popped the question!
If you’re thinking about popping the question at the NC Museum of Art, I hope Tucker & Vanessa’s proposal has thoroughly convinced you. They were a joy to photograph, and they’re also a perfect example of why I love engagement season so much. Check out more engagement sessions here!
